Life has a beginning and an end. It is the days in between that can sometimes be challenging to walk through. However, individuals have a choice not to experience these circumstances alone. Some people truly care and desire to see hurting individuals make positive changes concerning their mental health. I desire to assist clients through the counseling process by enabling them to live a more productive and satisfying life, reach worthwhile goals and aspirations, offer support with new situations and challenges, and provide a safe and warm atmosphere.
Therapy offers a wide variety of beneficial applications that help individuals cope with life stressors, make positive mental and behavioral changes, and heal the mind, body, and soul. No one person is the same and their experiences in life vary in diverse ways, therefore, I apply a variety of therapeutic techniques in my practice. My therapeutic modalities comprise the following psychotherapies: recreational, cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, solution-focused, person-centered, humanistic, positive, and faith based therapy. Each of these therapeutic modalities offers a systematic approach that delivers an encouraging and positive outcome for clients. I have used my academic studies and research along with my personal life experiences to help guide clients into creating new ways of thinking, understanding and restoring interpersonal relationships, and releasing past hurt to reclaim their happiness.
I embrace the opportunity to work with clients from all backgrounds and from ages four to seniors. I have experience in providing services to clients with anxiety, depression, stress management, eating disorders, and behavioral and emotional disorders in children. Additionally, I have experience working with clients in the LGBTQ community and those who purposefully rely on spirituality for guidance. As a spiritual and psychoeducational theory, faith-based therapy plays a large part in the client’s therapeutic journey and promotes self-fulfillment. Combining one’s faith with secular psychotherapies can provide a powerful therapeutic experience and produce hope to enhance growth and development in counseling sessions.

“I am committed to helping clients find their inner powers by reimagining themselves, rewriting their destiny, embracing change and growth and becoming a better self”.
I encountered many trials and tribulations beginning at the young age of nine years old. My early twenties I found myself listening to other people’s problems and felt the need to help. However, I often felt the need to be on a therapist’s couch myself. I felt different from my peers and my emotions seemed to never be regulated and I didn’t know why. It took time
for me to feel comfortable and fully disclose to my counselor my thoughts and feelings. After so many days of not knowing why I was feeling the way I was feeling, why I often was sad, scared, worried, and feeling comfortable with my therapist, I opened up and after a few weeks, my life had started to change.
Sitting on that couch with the rapport that was built, I felt safe enough to share my thoughts and feelings. My counselor gave me the feeling of being heard and understood. My passion for becoming a therapist and helping others grew tremendously after that experience.
I decided I wanted to become a counselor that creates a non-judgmental space while allowing clients to feel heard, supported, understood, and safe. My objective is to meet clients where they are. I aim to assist clients to enable their own thoughts and actions in a positive way and find their inner strength. My therapeutic style consists of combining cognitive and behavioral approaches including education, a passion for helping others, and empathy.
