Early Intervention Services

Early Intervention and Prevention Services -  "Coming Soon"

“If only” and “hindsight is 20/20” are phrases we hear too often in the mental and behavioral health industry. Universal Therapeutic Services, LLC is committed as a true leader in playing a key role in reducing the reality of “if only” scenarios. “If only” unfortunately comes too late and shortly after tragedy and misfortune has struck. The good news is, in this day and age, we know what to look for and how to act early enough to stave-off or lesson the effects of mental illness and behavioral disorders.

“The bad news is time flies.

The good news is you’re the pilot.” - Michael Altshuler

What is Prevention?

Prevention involves building and developing skill-sets which are designed to reduce risk factors, triggers or stressors. Prevention is a system designed to engage individuals before serious issues arise & alleviate extended treatment by streamlining access to services at the earliest signs of mental illness. Prevention can benefit all age groups and can dramatically reduce the need for long term care.

What is Early Intervention?

Early intervention addresses a condition that is early in its manifestation. Early intervention is relatively short in duration and is a low intensity program. Countless country-wide studies and real world examples prove over and over that mental illness and behavior disorders are preventable, manageable and afford the individual to live a full and productive life.

Prevention and Early Intervention Are Key

Mental illness typically shows up in the teenage years or during early adulthood. Without the proper treatment and guidance, the potential for significant long-term impairment is a real thing. The specialists at Universal Therapeutic Services, LLC have demonstrated that the appropriate treatment and support network can help prevent the full-onset of mental illness for high-risk individuals as well as improve the quality of life on a long-term basis for individuals who have already been diagnosed with a mental illness or behavioral disorder. Estimations are that 10% of children and young folks have mental health issues so significant that not only does it impact their day-to-day life but if left unchecked, will continue to grow into adulthood.

The Importance of Prevention and Early Intervention

When it comes to physical illness, we all know how huge the importance of prevention plays. We don’t think twice when it comes to routine checkups and general screenings. We know that awareness is an effective strategy when it comes to catching a disease in its early stages and being able to greatly increase the chances of recovery. Mental illness and behavioral disorders are no different when it comes to prevention and early intervention. If a treatment plan is focusing on the later stage of a mental disorder, not only is it detrimental to the individual but it can cost the community at large in terms of homelessness, economic problems, poverty, strain on health services, unemployment and suicide.
